Eight more bodies of policemen killed in the attack that occurred in a local government area in Benue State on Friday have been recovered.
The recovery, from an ambush by herdsmen and local militia gangs in Katsina-Ala LGA, brings to 11 the number of slain policemen.
Three bodies were initially recovered.
The Chairman of Katsina-Ala LGA, Justine Shaku, disclosed the latest casualty figure on Monday.
Shaku said the bodies were recovered on Sunday in an operation led by the Commissioner, Benue State Police Command, CP Ifeanyi Emenari.
He said: “Eight more bodies of dead police officers were recovered on Sunday night.
“This brings the number to 11.

“The Police Commissioner, Ifeanyi Emenari, is right here with me though the atmosphere is still tense and unfriendly.
“But we are on top of the situation.”
The policemen who were on patrol with members of the Benue State Civil Protection Guards (BSCPG) ran into an ambush between Tse Agbami and Agu Centre in Katsina-Ala LGA on the border with Ukum LGA.
About 16 persons in the patrol team reportedly lost their lives.
Some have been declared missing, with their operational trucks burnt and motorbikes carted away.
