A former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, has defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Bafarawa was formerly of the All Nigeria Peoples Party.
The ANPP was one of the four parties that fused to form the APM.
Bafarawa’s defection is coming barely 24 hours after he met with a former Governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.
Bafarawa’s media aide, Yusuf Dingyadi, confirmed the development.
Dingyadi said the former governor defected to the PDP with all his supporters after extensive consultation.
He said those consulted spread across the 23 local governments of Sokoto State and the parties that went into the APC alliance.
