Victoria Azarenka has qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Tennis Federation.
The Belarusian Tennis Federation has received the corresponding letter from the International Tennis Federation.
Thus, Azarenka, currently ranked 14th in the WTA, need not play for the Belarusian national team in the 2016 Federation Cup Playoff in April.
In the 2012 Olympics in London, Azarenka and Max Mirnyi won the mixed doubles gold.
Azarenka also claimed the women’s singles bronze.
