The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Abdullahi Kabir Barkiya of the All Progressives Congress as winner of Katsina Central Senatorial District election. The Returning Officer, Prof. Rasheed Adedayo Hamzat of the Federal University, Dutsinma, Katsina State, who announced the result on Sunday in Katsina, said Barkiya scored 340,800 votes to defeat Hamisu Gambo of the Peoples Democratic Party, who got 124,372 votes. Barkiya was the former Managing Director of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency.
