Mohammed Sani Musa of the All Progressives Congress has been declared winner of the Niger East Senatorial District election held on Saturday.
Announcing the result on Monday in Minna, the Returning Officer, Prof. Ali Audu Jega, said Musa scored 229,415 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Ishaku Ibrahim of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 116,143 votes.
The candidate of the ADC, Musa Hassan, scored 2,655 votes.
Jega said: “Mohammed Sani Musa of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
