Alhaji Zaki Ahmed, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, said a jail break was averted at Federal Prison, Bauchi on October 9.
Ahmed, who spoke on Friday in Bauchi while briefing newsmen on the activities of the command, said one Mahmud Tanimu, who hatched the plan, was arrested.
He explained that Tanimu had concluded plans with his accomplices to break the jail on the fateful day to free his brother being remanded in the prison.
Ahmed further explained that the brother to Tanimu, whose name was not mentioned, was standing trial for alleged terrorism.
