The representative of Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, has described the Minister of Industry, Trade and investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, as one of the few politicians whose finesse and civility are reshaping the politics of the nation.
Bamidele, the chairman, Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters of the 9th Senate, said the former Ekiti State Governor’s doggedness and self-confidence had attracted and served as impetus to myriad of youths to plunge into politics and begin to diligently work their way to leadership positions in Ekiti politics and Nigeria at large.
The federal lawmaker said this on Tuesday in his congratulatory message to the Minister, who clocked 62 today.
Bamidele said Adebayo was one of the few young patriots who veered into politics in 1999 despite the scepticism that pervaded the political space due to high level of mistrust against the military oligarchs at that time.
The Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress added that Adebayo’s civility, industry, painstaking efforts, resourcefulness and outstanding administrative astuteness brought panache to Ekiti governance and raised the bar of leadership within the comity of states.
He said: “I join countless of your political followers and admirers to felicitate with you as you clock 62 today. I rejoice with you not only because God has added another year to your age, but equally for standing tall in integrity and still glowing in passion for humanity .
“Those of us who are tapping from your repository of knowledge and toeing your footsteps as a motivating and passionate leader ackowledged the lucid fact that you are a blessing to this generation and we pray that God will grant you long life and continued good health to be able to contribute more in building a nation we can all be proud of.
“Your humility, despite being from an aristocratic background, has become a role modeling force attracting people to you and moulding the lives of the coming generation in the most positive way.
“As the first Executive Governor of Ekiti State, you served at a time Ekiti was experiencing crass financial drought and this militating but pivotal factor didn’t prevent you from laying a rocky socio-economic and political foundation that has become a launchpad for the rapid development being witnessed in the state today under the able and scientific leadership of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
“You have served humanity in the best way that history will infinitely remind you as a leader of note and tremendous impacts.
“We pray that the good Lord will continue to imbue you with wisdom to be able to contribute meaningfully to the development of our dear country while you continue to provide political leadership and mentoring to our dear State as an elder statesman.”
