Former Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been appointed the manager of Rosario Central.
Tevez, 38, has taken on his first managerial role by signing a one-year deal to manage the Argentine Primera Division side.
Rosario are currently 22nd in Argentina’s top flight, which contains 28 clubs, after four games in the second phase of the season.
Tevez revealed earlier this month that he was hanging up his boots due to the death of his adopted father in February 2021.
Segundo Raimundo passed away last year after experiencing complications from COVID-19.
Tevez said he could have prolonged his playing career in the United States but he decided to end his 20-year spell in the professional game.
He is quoted as telling Mundo Albiceleste: “I have retired, it is confirmed.
“They offered me many things, including from the United States. But that’s it, I have given everything.
“Playing the last year was very difficult but I was able to see my old man. I stopped playing because I lost my number one fan.”
Tevez started and ended his professional career at Argentina’s Boca Juniors.
He moved to Brazilian outfit Corinthians in 2005 before spending a combined seven years in England with West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Tevez then went on to play for Juventus, Boca Juniors, Shanghai Shenhua in China and then back to boyhood side Boca Juniors.
He won three Premier Leagues, two Serie A titles and a Champions League during his time in Europe.
