The All Nigeria Peoples Party on Thursday appointed the Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, as the head of its committee for the gubernatiral campaign/election in Sokoto State.
The party also ratified the nomination of Alhaji Tijani Musa Tumsah as its National Secretary.
These decisions and others were taken on Thursday at the party’s National Executive Committee meeting at its national headquarters in Abuja.
According to the communique signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Emma Eneukwu, some suspended members of the party in Kogi State also had their suspension lifted.
The communique reads: “After exhaustive deliberations today, February 9, 2012, the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of our great Party unanimously resolved as follows:
“(1) To lift the suspension placed on our great Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Kogi State, Elder Obollo OKpanachi and Chairman of the State Chapter, Mr. Patrick Daudu.
“This is at the instance of the Disciplinary Committee which after carefully examining the issues which led to their suspension, recommended their reinstatement having satisfied itself that both Party leaders have shown remorse for their actions and pledged to turn a new leaf accordingly.
“(2) Ratified the nomination of Alhaji Tijani Musa Tumsah as the National Secretary of our great Party. He replaced Hon Shettima Lawan Ali who resigned the position to serve in the Yobe State Government.
“(3) Inaugurated a 24 man Sokoto State Gubernatorial Election Campaign Committee headed by the Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam.
“The meeting held at the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja. In attendance were the Yobe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, representative of the Borno State Governor, Alhaji Goni Ali Modu who is the Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly and Senators Bukar Abba Ibrahim, Kabiru Gaya and Ahmed Lawan.
“Others, include the Deputy Minority leader in the House of Representatives, Hon. Suleiman Abdulkadir Kawu, members of the National Working Committee, Chairmen of all the State Chapters our great Party and other elders of the Party.”
