Seasoned coach and former Nigerian international, Fatai Amoo, has quit his post as the Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, The Eagle Online has reliably gathered.
Amoo, who was appointed few months ago as the club’s manager, was believed to have received several death threats to his life.
The death threats to the gaffer, according to sources close to Sunshine’s camp, became unbearable after Sunshine Stars were sent packing from the Federation Cup on Wednesday.
The Akure side sacked Samuel Abimbola and they replaced him with Amoo following poor showing in the first stanza of the league.
Until now, Amoo had handled First Bank of Lagos, Julius Berger, Gateway FC and Sunshine Stars.
He has also been linked with the Flying Eagles and the national U-23 team jobs.
