Amaechi’s screening deferred

The screening of a former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, by the Senate for the position of a minister has been deferred.
Amaechi was among those listed for screening on Wednesday (today) by the Senate.
However, following the failure of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to conclude its findings on the allegations of fraud brought against Amaechi, the screening was announced postponed.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Sam Anyanwu, told his colleagues that they were yet to conclude the report on Amaechi.
Amaechi’s screening was thus deferred till Thursday in the hope that the Committee’s report would be ready.
