It appears there is no letup in the crisis rocking the Cross River State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party as an aide to the governor has resigned from the party a day after his principal defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Governor Ben Ayade on Thursday ditched the PDP, on which platform he was elected, and joined the APC.
In a rather comical letter of resignation written on Pidgin English and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Nbube Ward II, the Special Adviser to the Governor, Students Affairs, Comrade Abang A. Ogon, did not only resign from the party, he also asked that the furniture in the secretariat, which he apparently supplied, be returned to him, as, in his words: “Na Ayade money I used buy am.”
The short letter reads: “Shebi you follow see the quarrel from 2019 till now? Shebi you follow see how people run leave community go organize machineries from Rivers State to come beat us?
“Shebi you don hear say Governor don move?
“Abeg you go open that secretariat make I pack my chairs, na Ayade money I use buy am.
“I no dey do again.”
