Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin FC have unveiled 15 new players to boost the chances of the team in the new abridged 2020/2021 Nigeria National League season.
Unveiling the players at a mini ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team’s Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, said most of the new players were scouted locally, while one was promoted from the youth team.
Chukwuemeka said: “It is always our target to scout players locally, this time, we have picked boys from Baboko, Adeta and many other places in Ilorin and beyond.
“Our vision is to discover them young, educate them, train and nurture them to become superstars.
“We have players across Nigeria Professional Football League clubs that began their career here, we are happy to stay on this lane.”
The Club’s Technical Adviser, Anthony Encho, said at the ceremony that himself and his crew went through a rigorous exercise to come up with these new players to add to the team.
Encho said: “I met some quality players when I came here, so that made my job very easy.
“We only recruited players we feel can help us in areas we need to make additions.
“I want to sincerely thank the management for standing by many of our decisions.”
A total of 15 players were recruited, while one player was promoted from the youth team.
