The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in conjunction with the CAN media team, Ebonyi State chapter has given a seven-day ultimatum to one Pastor Aloy Ogah to retract all false allegations and tender public apologies to the Ebonyi State Government and the CAN Chairman, Scamb Chinedum Nwokolo, or face legal actions.
The groups, all under CAN, gave the ultimatum to the pastor on Saturday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
They spoke in reaction to a recent media publication sponsored by Ogah against Nwokolo in which he alleged that the CAN Chairman embezzled N100 million and 50 bags of 50kg rice given to the umbrella body of Christians in Nigeria by the state government during the 2023 Christmas celebration.
The groups described the allegation as false, mischievous and driven by inordinate desire to sow disaffection and tarnish the image of the Christian body in the state and her State Chairman.
They described Ogah as an unstable character, an impostor, a tribal bigot and harbinger of false information desperately seeking to create enmity between CAN and the State Government in a bid to actualise his inordinate ambitions.
In their separate reactions, the YOWICAN State Chairman, Deacon Stephen Nwodom, and the Chairman, State CAN media team, Pastor Victor Eze, expressed worries that Ogah, who is an acclaimed man of God, with his cohorts should resort to such cheap blackmail and falsehood, stressing that CAN and her Chairman in the state cannot be distracted by such easy antics being cognisant his mission, which is to destroy CAN in the State for his selfishness interests.
Recall that Pastor Ogah and his collaborators for over a month now have been attacking the Ebonyi State Chairman of CAN.
First, they had petitioned Nwokolo to the CAN national body seeking his removal from office on the grounds of not being an indigene of Ebonyi State, and further to the state government alleging that he (Ogah) had been elected the new CAN chairman.
The CAN national body and the State government respectively having deprecated Ogah’s letters and warning him to desist from his futile mission, he resorted to accusing Nwokolo of embezzlement, a development which was seen as both diversionary and an afterthought.

However, before now, almost all the names Ogah listed in his purported new executive, including the Anglican Bishop of Abakaliki, Monday Nkwoagu, had publicly dissociated themselves from his antics and demanded public apologies from him.
The CAN executive members and bloc leaders at a press briefing had also put up a disclaimer against Ogah, passing a general vote of confidence on Nwokolo as the only authentic and legitimately elected chairman of the CAN in the state.
