The Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of 12 persons as members of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
This was sequel to the consideration of a report of the Senate Committee On Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions Committee of the CBN.
The confirmation of the new MPC members comes days to the first policy meeting of the apex bank under the new Governor of the CBN, Olayemi Cardoso.
The meeting has been slated for February 26 and 27, 2024.
Cardoso was confirmed as chairman of the MPC.

Members are Muhammad Sani Abdullahi, Bala M. Bello, Emem Usoro, Philip Ikeazor and Lamido Yuguda.
Others are Jafiya Lydia Shehu, Murtala Sabo Sagagi, Aloysius Uche Ordu, Aku Pauline Odinkemelu, Mustapha Akinwumi and Bandele A. G. Amoo.
