At last the Aminu Maigari-led faction of Nigeria Football Federation has agreed that elections into the Executive Committee should hold on August 26, in Abuja.
This was the outcome of a meeting summoned by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, on Friday evening.
The meeting was attended by Alhaji Aminu Maigari, who led his group; Chief Mike Umeh and his group; and the chairman of the Electoral Eommittee, Barrister Amoni Biambo.
Maigari had announced his intention to seek for the postponement of the election at the August 26 General Assembly, which he slated for Warri, Delta State.
But, at the meeting, the SGF was said to have directed that the elective General Assembly should hold in Abuja and not Warri.
Present at the meeting were Aminu Maigari, Chris Green, Yusuf Ahmed Fresh, Ahmed Kawu, Mike Umeh, Shehu Adamu and Suleyman Muazu.
Meanwhile, four more candidates may be cleared before the Tuesdayelection.
They are Amanze Uchegbulam (Imo),Yahaya Kwande (Plateau), Abel Aighe (Edo) and Henshaw Ewa (Bayelsa).
The four aspirants were said to have protested to the Electoral Committee that they were denied the rights to pick nomination forms to contest.
The Eagle Online gathered that in the spirit of ongoing reconciliation, they would be given the opportunity to fill nomination forms and go through screening, following which the Electoral Committee would make its decision known before Tuesday.
