Warri Wolves Football Club of Warri has booked their place in the semi finals of the 2013 Federation Cup as they whitewashed their Kano Pillars counterpart by three goals to nil.
Wolves’ Najare Musa opened scoring on the ninth minute as he connected a cross from Ado Ali to shoot pass Pillars’ goalkeeper, Joseph Ohunga.
Najare again profited from a spot kick to grab a brace on the 20th minute of the encounter.
Home-based Super Eagles star, Oghenekaro Etebo, slotted the third goal on the 40th minute to kill off the contest.
Kano Pillars were wasteful as they lost several scoring chances that came their way in the second half.
In a post match conference, Pillars gaffer, Mohammed Babaganaru, accepted the defeat, just as he believed fasting affected his players’ performance.
On the other hand, Warri Wolves sweat merchant, Solomon Ogbeide, boasted that they have actualised their plans for the game, stressing that he is still building a formidable squad that will battle other top contenders for the title.
Ogbeide added that Warri Wolves won the game from the bench, saying that with hard work they will shock other clubs as the competition progresses.
