The Nigerian Football Federation has ruled out the prospect of the Super Eagles engaging in an international friendly game against world champions, Germany, at least this year.
The Spokesman of the NFF, Ademola Olajire, said: “The NFF is doing everything possible to prepare the Super Eagles for the World and Nations Cup qualifications. We have a qualified licensed agent who is working assiduously to organise top friendlies during the FIFA Windows. Apart from the Corsica friendly, he is working on other possible games. However, we cannot play Germany this year in any FIFA windows. As world champions, they plan their program all year and are very busy and Nigeria does not feature in any of their friendly plans this year.”
Olajire affirmed that Coach Gernot Rohr has a list of players with whom he will successfully execute the world and nations cup matches.
He said: “The coach does not want to take any chances, so he has a list of players he would be relying on to play the matches. The Nigerian football federation has secure Nigerian passport for Ola Aina, Joel Bazee. We are working on that of Tammy Abrahams and others. We want the best players in the national team, so we are not taking any chances at all.”
