The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State says it will not take much of its efforts to crush and override the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming elections in the state.
Addressing leaders and other PDP faithful on Friday at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State during the official commissioning/handing over of the first Batch of Branded Buses to the 23 LGAs in Rivers State, the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, said the party is far ahead of the APC and is poised to vote out from office the “APC monsters” currently hibernating in the Government House and milking the state dry.
Wike, who is the leader of the party in Rivers state, explained that the essence of the distribution of the vehicles to the local government areas was strictly to ease mobility of members and to enhance effective execution of party activities in all the nooks and crannies of the various LGAs.
He warned against using the buses for extraneous and senseless engagements.
The minister emphasised that politics demands sacrifice and commitment, noting that the party has set the stage and that all illegalities, impunities and recklessness in governance in the state will not be allowed to stand.
While charging all party faithful to remain resolute, he commended the gallant efforts of other leaders of the party in the state, assuring them that with such vigour, the party will win and President Goodluck Jonathan would be reelected in 2015.
Also speaking, the National Deputy Chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Secondus, said it was high time the PDP in the state took their destiny in their hands.
Secondus said the ultimate is returning government in the state.
He said one major intention of the leadership of the party for providing the buses was to decentralize leadership and activities.
