2015: Nigerian students in UK endorse Uduaghan, Akpabio for Senate

Nigerian students in the United Kingdom have urged two states governors in Nigeria to contest for the Senate seats in their states in 2015.
The governors are Obong Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State and Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State.
The students said they were prepared to support the two governors.
The President of Nigerian Students in the United Kingdom, Moses Adoga, on behalf of the students, made the remark in Manchester, United Kingdom when Nigerian students in the city paid a courtesy visit to the past president of the union and Manchester-based terrorism and security expert, Francis Okoemu.
The students also used the occasion to congratulate Akpabio for successfully hosting President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the commissioning of the gas processing facility at Uquo, the commissioning of the Goodluck Jonathan Boulevard on Ring Road in Uyo and the ground breaking ceremony for a $1.8 billion methanol plant in Ibeno.
Adoga said during the visit to Okoemu: “Your Excellencies the Governors of Akwa Ibom, Dr. Akpabio and Dr. Uduaghan of Delta State, we Nigerian Students in the United Kingdom in an uncommon resolve, unanimously passed a vote of confidence on you and your administration.
“We urge you both to match on to take your place at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly in 2015.
“We Nigerians believe in you and we trust you both.
“We assure you that those of us who are for you are more than those who are against you.
“Sail on the best governors Nigeria has ever had.”
The students, numbering over 500, all wore white T-shirts with the inscriptions: “Akpabio for Senate 2015” and “Uduaghan for Senate 2015”.
Okoemu promised the students who called on him that he would forward their desire to the two governors.
He said: “I can assure you all present here today that your message of support will be sent to Uyo and Asaba.”
The terrorism and security expert described Akpabio and Uduaghan as the most popular governors in Nigeria and a true great son of their states in particular and Nigeria in general.
He said their achievements in education and health care in Nigeria are second to none.
He commended the two governors for their support for Jonathan’s re-election in 2015.
Okoemu thanked the Nigerian students in the United Kingdom for their unanimous endorsement of Jonathan for a second term in office.
He hailed the President for his transformation agenda, noting that he has “brought hope to our great nation”.
He urged Jonathan to shun any kind of intimidation and threat from Boko Haram and light weight politicians who have nothing to offer.
On Boko Haram, the terrorism and security expert noted that the war was winnable.
