The Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency on Monday said 18 women were delivered of their babies at Gatsura flood victims camp.
Alhaji Atiku Maradun, the Executive Secretary of the agency, announced this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Gusau.
The victims are camped at Gyalenge Township Primary School in Gummi Local Government Area.
Maradun said that the deliveries were recorded in the last three months.
He said that each of the 17 women gave birth to single babies while one had a set of twins.
Maradun said that the state government had already provided food items, clothes and drugs for the women and their babies.
The victims were relocated to the camp three months ago due to flood that ravaged their village.
