Abubakar orders deployment of armed policemen to Zamfara village over killing

The Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar, has ordered the deployment of armed policemen to Kizara village of Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
The deployment followed the killing of over 30 persons on Tuesday by unknown gun men.
The IGP, who was accompanied by the Minister of State for Works, Alhaji Bashir Yuguda said on Thursday that they visited the village on the instructions of President Goodluck Jonathan to sympathise with the people over the sad incident.
The police boss also stated that the visit would give them an on-the-spot assessment of the rampage done by the unknown gunmen.
Abubakar assured members of the community that the policemen would remain permanently in the area.
“We will join hands with the military and state security to ensure that we bring the perpetrators to book.’’
Also speaking, the Minister of State for Works, Alhaji Bashir Yuguda appealed to the people to return to their homes as adequate security had now been provided
The minister, who urged members of the community to be security conscious also called on them to report any suspicious movement to the nearest security.
Alhaji Atiku Maradun, the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara Emergency Management Agency (ZEMA), said apart from treating the wounded, displaced persons had been provided with mattresses, blankets and food items.
He added that the agency was still carrying out its assessment of the damage done.
The delegation was received by the Emir of Tsafe, Alhaji Habibu Yandoto who took them round some of the burnt houses and shops.
They also visited the home of the district head who was killed by the attackers.
