The Football Authority of Malawi has expressed satisfaction with the state of the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Cross River State, which will host Saturday’s decisive 2014 World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and the Flames.
Football Association of Malawi Chief Executive Officer, Suzgo Nyirenda, expressed contentment after inspecting the facility.
Nyirenda said: “We are happy with the conditions both on and off the pitch.
“Generally, it is suitable to host such a high-profile game.”
The FAM CEO said the facility seats 25,000 people and was recently upgraded to include a multi-modern video matrix scoreboard and floodlights.
The Flames arrived Nigeria on Thursday.
The team will be training at the University of Calabar and will get the feel of the match venue on Friday.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 5pm on Saturday.
