Woman, 38, remanded over alleged possession of Indian hemp in Osun

 An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Friday remanded a 38-year-old woman, Sade Lukuman, in Ilesa Prison, for allegedly being in possession of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa (Indian hemp).
Lukuman pleaded guilty to the charge of being in possession of suspected illicit drug.
The magistrate, Olubukola Ayilara, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison pending the review of facts on the next adjournment.
Ayilara adjourned the case until January 24 for ruling.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the accused committed the offence on January 17 at about 10:00 a.m., along Ofatedo area of Osogbo.
He said the offence contravened Section 509 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
