Warri Wolves pay bonuses, salaries, sign on fees

The Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, has fulfilled his promise to the players and officials of Warri Wolves to pay all their salaries, bonuses for the two away matches drawn and 25 per cent of their sign on fees if they can get good result from their last match against Enyimba of Aba.
Amaju had summoned the technical crew to his office to review the performances of the team prior to their last match against Enyimba.
At the meeting, he promised to pay all the arrears of salaries, bonuses and part of their sign on fees if they could get something from the dreaded Enyimba in their den.
According to the Media Officer of the Club, Moses Etu, the players were full of smiles and thanked Amaju for keeping to promise.
Etu said: ‘I am happy that the chairman, known for keeping promises, has done it again by paying up to date the salaries of the players.
“He has also paid the bonuses for the two matches they drew and 25 per cent sign on fees of the players.
“They are very grateful to the chairman and to the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who is our no one supporter.
“And in line with that promise, the players and the officials were all smiles and declared that this will serve as a moral booster to get the goals.”
Speaking on the goodwill of the chairman, versatile midfielder, Joseph Osadiaye, who is known for his electrifying dribbling, promised to break the jinx in their next match against Nembe City on Thursday.
Osadiaye said: “People will begin to see the real talent in us as from next week because the management has done their own.
“I believe in myself and I know the goals will come.
“We will break the jinx next week against Nembe City.
“We are not going to underrate them because they can cause upset.”
Meanwhile, Warri Wolves will return to the Warri International Stadium next week against Nembe City with the African Youth Athletics Championship over.
It would be recalled that the team was forced to play against Nasarawa United at Oleh Township Stadium as a result of the AYAC, held in Warri.
