The controversy surrounding the state of origin of a member of the All Progressives Congress and controversial governorship hopeful in Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, is not about subsiding.
Rather, the controversy keeps growing by the day.
Last week, it went a notch higher when Ambode paid a courtesy visit to the Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in company with the representative of Ondo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Robert Ajayi Boroffice.
Those who have claimed that Ambode was from Ondo State were quick in linking his visit to Aregbesola alongside Boroffice with the fact that he is from Ondo State and that the delegation was an APC team from the state to congratulate the reelected governor.
Boroffice represents Ondo North, covering Ilaje area of the state.
Ambode claims to be from Epe in Lagos East Senatorial District.
However, long before the visit to Aregbesola, those who should know have said he is from from Ilaje in Ondo State and one of the constituents of Boroffice.
To buttress the contrary findings, those who insisted he is from Ondo State have also taken steps further to reveal some of his old school documents such as his Joint Admission and Matriculation Board examination and bursary forms where, he clearly indicated Ondo as his state of Origin.
Although the frenzy over Ambode’s governorship ambition is believed to have taken a downward turn in view of the many controversies, he is also said to be taking conscious steps to identifying with his true political base and home state, a pointer being his visit to Aregbesola with Boroffice.
