Nigeria’s duo of Ejike Uzoenyi and Rabiu Ali have been listed in 2014 African Nations Championship best XI, with champions, Libya, dominating the fantasy side.
Uzoenyi and Ali were vital to Nigeria’s third place win at the competition, with the Rangers winger sweeping three Man of the Match awards and the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
The Libyan team lifted this year’s trophy following their penalty shoot-out win over the Black Stars of Ghana on Saturday evening after the Cape Town Stadium final had ended goalless after 120 minutes.
Mohamed Abdaula, Ali Salama and Mohamed Elgadi were the standout men for the Libyans, while Ghana’s Seidu Bansey was the star performer upfront.
Zimbabwe, which finished tournament fourth, were also represented in the team, with Partson Jaure and Kudakwashe Mahachi doing the Warriors proud.
