A penalty from star striker, Lionel Messi, has sealed a 2-0 win for Barcelona over Manchester City in the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday.
Messi was controversially awarded a spot kick after being brought down by Martin Demichelis, although replays showed contact was made outside the penalty area.
Demichelis was shown a red card for the challenge, and Messi stepped up to slot home the penalty.
Dani Alves finished off City from close range when he nutmegged Joe Hart to double Barcelona’s advantage.
It gives Barcelona a crucial two away goals advantage heading into the second leg at the Nou Camp, where City will have plenty of work to do if they are to qualify for their first Champions League quarter finals.
