The Nigeria Football Federation is proposing a warm-up match against Portugal to boost the Super Eagles preparation before the World Cup tournament in Brazil in June.
The proposed match will benefit both sides as Nigeria will prepare to face their opponents in their group matches.
NFF officials explained that the reason for lining up Portugal for the African champions is because they play like the Eagles World Cup Group F foes, Bosnia and Argentina.
The Eagles are due to play Mexico in a friendly match next month as a warm-up game for Brazil 2014.
However, the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation Technical Committee, Chris Green, has now said another match against Portugal could well be on the cards.
However, Green said it will only be played if Portugal accepts the arrangement.
“We are considering playing a friendly with Portugal, they play like Argentina and Bosnia-Hezegovina. But for the friendly to come to life, Portugal have to accept and be interested,” Green said on Brila FM.
Nigeria will battle Argentina, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina, while Portugal are pitched against Ghana, Germany and United States of America.
