No fewer than three churches and a police station have been set on fire by suspected Boko Haram members in Kaduna State.
The incident, which happened late on Wednesday, took policemen in Birnin-Gwari, Kaduna State by surprise as the gunmen first attacked their station.
Though the policeman on duty engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle, they were reported to have been overpowered.
The gunmen eventually set the police station on fire.
Some policemen were reported shot dead and some trapped in the burnt station.
After this, the gunmen moved on to set three churches ablaze.
The affected churches were ECWA, Deeper Life and Catholic.
A commercial bank in the town was also looted and set on fire.
