A teenager, Ayomide Shina, was on Tuesday docked before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a power generator worth N180,000.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, appeared on two counts of conspiracy and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Ejiro Kubeinje.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, told the court that the defendant and some others at large committed the offences on Aug. 23 at 11.00 a.m. on Sunday Farm Estate, Agege, Lagos State.
Ajayi said that the defendant trespassed into a compound belonging to one Uche Anadi and stole the generator kept there.
Ajayi said that the offences contravened Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Kubeinje granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety.
She ordered that the home and office addresses of the sureties must be verified, and adjourned the case until Nov. 2 for mention.
