Governor Simon Lalong made the disclosure on Wednesday in Jos at monthly prayer organised by the State Government.
Obasanjo said there were such challenges during his eight-year reign as president, but not the magnitude it has assumed now.
Saraki stated this when he paid a condolence visit on Plateau governor in Jos to sympathise with government and people of Plateau over the killings of scores of people in the state.
Lalong made the promise on Monday at the NUJ Press Centre in Jos during an interactive session with newsmen to mark the 2018 Democracy Day and 3rd anniversary of his administration.
Addressing newsmen in Jos on the tourism potentials of state, Lalong said that the state had the most unique weather in Nigeria where potatoes could thrive well.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Lalong declared his interest in a fresh tenure at a meeting of the All Progressive Congress stakeholders in Jos, on Friday.
The governor said that the declaration was as result of the intense pressure from the people of the state for him to recontest.
The NLC made the claim through its National President, Ayuba Waba, who paid a courtesy visit to Plateau governor Simon Lalong in Jos.

The governor debunked stories making the rounds, particularly on social media that he has carved parts of the state to be used as cattle colony.
Jang, who represents Plateau North in the Senate, said in Jos on Friday that he had met with his constituents to gauge their feelings on the proposal.
