The Northern Governors Forum has felicitated with Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, on her 51st birthday anniversary.

This was contained in a congratulatory message by Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong.

The congratulatory message was issued by Dr. Makut Macham, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, on Thursday in Jos,

Lalong commended the First Lady’s effort at impacting on the lives of many Nigerians, particularly the less privileged ones

He said: “The Forum rejoices with the mother of the nation on this special day as it calls for special recognition of her efforts towards impacting on the lives of Nigerians, particularly women and children.

“The First Lady has over the years remained consistent and committed in initiating various programmes that have direct impact on the most vulnerable persons in society.”

The Governor added that her pet project, Future Assured Programme, has done a lot in empowering women and youths in all parts of the country.

“As well as her humanitarian interventions to victims of crises and other natural disasters,” he said.

Lalong praised the First Lady’s support to the NGF in the efforts to address the Almajiri phenomenon, poverty, diseases and humanitarian needs of displaced persons across the region and the nation at large.

He also acknowledged the leadership and mentoring capacity of Hajia Buhari, which he said has resonated in various states through their various pet programmes that are equally making impact on the lives of the citizens.

The NGF wished the First Lady good health, God’s protection and wisdom to continue to stand up for the weak and vulnerable in society.
