Marwa’s acceptance to deliver the lecture was communicated to Realnews in a letter dated May 31, 2022.
The speakers gave the advice at the ninth anniversary lecture and investiture into the Realnews Hall of Fame on Thursday in Lagos while discussing the topic: “Nigeria in the Unfolding Integration of the African Market: The Oil and Gas Perspective.”
His death was confirmed by RealNews magazine in a report in the early hours of Wednesday
“Beyond Politics: An Economic Narrative for West Africa,” is the main topic of the Lecture with: “The End of Oil: Wither the Nigeria Economy,” as the sub-theme.

Making the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja, Maureen Chigbo, publisher of Realnews Magazine, an online publication, said: “Our choice of topic for the 2018 lecture has been informed by contemporary political, economic, security, socio-cultural challenges facing Nigeria regarded as the “Giant of Africa” as it prepares for the 2019 polls where Nigerians are expected to elect leaders they hope will move country to the next level.”
Speaking on the topic: “African Leadership in a Turbulent Era,” which was the theme of this year’s lecture, speakers at the Realnews’ lecture warned that keeping the teaming population of African youths idling away was dangerous.
