The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) had directed its members across the country to embark on a total strike from August 2.The directive was issued at the end of the executive meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the union held in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, the NCDC Director General who made this known at the PTF briefing on Tuesday in Abuja, said that the process of procurement of the antigen-based test is almost completed.
