The Nigerian Railway Corporation says Nigerians will soon enjoy hourly train services on the Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge rail line.

Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, on Friday commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge rail project.
The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, would test run the ongoing contruction of Lagos – Ibadan Standard Gauge railway next Wednesday, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation says there will be no level crossings where moving trains and vehicles would cross paths on the new Lagos-Ibadan Standard gauge rail line.
Amaechi disclosed this while inspecting the project at Ewekoro-Papalanto axis of the project on Monday.
He stated this at the construction site at Adumbu village, near Papalanto in Ogun, saying that the Federal Government had resolved the issue of utilities such as underground pipes, gas lines and cables.
He said: “We refuse to go by train today basically to see the right of way. There is only a place after Ijoko where we have issue with the right of way.
