“INEC has been painfully slow in processing the permanent voters cards, and one can only hope that the electoral body is not doing this deliberately to disenfranchise voters, especially in opposition strongholds,” the party said in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

In a release by the party’s interim chairman in the state, Chief Jide Awe, APC said INEC was playing pranks with such materials sensitive to the election in a manner it did with the Anambra election. Such action by the electoral body is a worrisome impunity, as it contravenes the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010, which makes it obligatory for INEC to provide the certified true copies of the voters’ register to a party upon request without fail

Similarly, the Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCD), Dr Ade Abolurin has handed down a stern warning to officers and men of the corps to steer away from accepting any form of logistic supports from government or individuals ahead the election

Speaking at the opening of a two-day retreat of the National Inter-Agency Advisory Committee on Voter Education and Publicity, Jega said this was in spite of the enormous resources to voter and civic education being committed by the commission and other bodies
