This is the largest chunk of drugs to be destroyed by the NDLEA since the inception of the counter-narcotic Agency. 

Okorocha said in an interview with journalists in Owerri that the measure was aimed at curbing the rising menace of substance abuse among youths in the state.

Ganduje said after setting the drugs ablaze at the NDLEA premises in Kano, that the exercise was a breakthrough in the administration’s war against sale and consumption of illicit drugs in the state.

Speaking at an interactive meeting with religious leaders in Kano on Thursday, the President expressed concern on the growing problem of drugs abuse in the country.
