Nwosu, the youngest player in the Nigeria squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations title on home soil in 1980, had been in the hospital for some time now, with top politicians, captains of industry and football chieftains all showing interest in his health status.

He said efforts are already on to assist the 1980 AFCON winner to get back to good health as soon as possible.
Nwosu, who was a member of the then Green Eagles squad that won the 1980 edition of the AFCON, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that the players needed to work as a functional unit.
