The Nigerian Army said on Saturday it has begun proceedings to court martial 14 officers and soldiers accused of murder, kidnapping and desertion, among other criminal offences.

Brigadier General Olusegun Adeniyi, the President of the GCM, gave the verdict during its sitting in Maiduguri, Borno State
They were charged with offences that ranged from disobedience to particular order to insubordination, false accusation, criminal behaviour, conspiracy to commit mutiny and mutiny under the Armed Forces Act 2004
They insist that this incoherent and disjointed nature of the charge upon which they were tried and convicted infringed on their fundamental rights
Army will on Thursday inaugurate a General Court Martial to try another set of soldiers who have violated the Armed Forces Act.
