Yusuf made the call on Friday while speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Business Morning. According to the former LCCI helmsman, the new rules contain many elements with the potential to accelerate tax dispute resolution, but are capable of making the country’s investment environment unappealing to foreign investors and local businesses.

Dr. Muda Yusuf, Director-General, LCCI, made this known in a press statement made available to the media following a study by the Chamber and the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
“The economy was faced with positive but sluggish growth before the pandemic with real GDP growth averaging 1.94 per cent between Q2-2017 and Q1-2020, much below population growth rate of 2.6 per cent,” the LCCI said.
LCCI’s Director-General, Dr. Muda Yusuf, made this known on Sunday through the body’s Economic and Business Review for 2020 and Outlook for 2021.
Reacting to the National Bureau of Statistics quarterly report, its Director-General, Dr Muda Yusuf, told newsmen that the news of recession was not surprising.
He explained that this action was necessary to prevent both the deregulation policy from being derailed and a return to a subsidy regime fraught with corrupt practices.
