The Minister in a statement he personally signed Friday indicated that he took the decision after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and consulting widely with his family, constituents, supporters and well-wishers.
A member of the NEC told our correspondent that the strike may be extended with the submissions given so far at the meeting.
Ngige, who is seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 presidential election, said this on Wednesday.
Ngige, who maintained that he had no idea about the directive, said it was his constitutional right to run for the country’s highest office.
Ngige made the declaration Tuesday at Alor, his country home town in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra in an occasion organised by his political associates.
