American Christian Coleman’s dream of adding the 200 meters to the 100 meter world title he won on Saturday has ended.

“It feels like a blur,” said the 21-year-old Coleman, who won the 100-metres silver medal at last year’s world championships in London.
The 31-year-old, an eight-time Olympic champion, retired from athletics after the London World Championships in August when his 100m farewell ended in a third-placed finish behind Gatlin and Christian Coleman.
Gatlin took the title in 9.92 but instead of acclaiming the remarkable success of a 35-year-old triumphing 13 years after he won the Olympic title, vast swathes of the crowd booed him in response to his two bans for drugs offences earlier in his career.
