Fury has not fought since dethroning unified world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf in November 2015 due to a lengthy saga with UKAD and acknowledging issues with mental health
Fury nor his team had approached the Board to get the suspension on his licence lifted, despite UK Anti-Doping ruling in December that he could fight again following the completion of a backdated two-year ban for testing positive for the steroid nandrolone in 2015.
It means Fury, who has returned to training and faced the UKAD hearing alongside cousin Hughie, can challenge for Joshua’s unified WBA, IBF and IBO world heavyweight titles, assuming he gets his licence back from the British Boxing Board of Control.
