Support group for Ambode kicks off roadshow in Lagos

The Support Group for Ambode 2015, led by its Chairman, Demola Seriki, a former Minister of State for Defence, on Wednesday officially kicked off a roadshow in support of the campaign of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Speaking with newsmen on Tuesday, Seriki said the committees with the Support Group have pooled professionals from various fields volunteering to contribute to the emergence of Ambode as the next governor of Lagos State.

He said: “We want to salute the APC in Lagos State and its leadership led by Otunba Dele Ajomale and Cardinal James Odunbaku for the gargantuan campaign machinery they have developed in selling the candidate and the manifesto of the party to the voters in Lagos State through the ongoing campaign and town hall meetings.

“We also appreciate the herculean effort of the candidate’s campaign office in engaging the voters and interacting with the people.

“We believe more hands must be on deck to repel the forces of retrogression symbolised by the Peoples Democratic Party, which seeks to hoodwink Lagosians and lure them out of their comfort zone to a future whose possibilities is today represented by the rudderless leadership provided at the federal level.”

The group further stated that the road shows will holds on Tuesday, Wednesday andSaturday on weekly basis, up until the governorship election in April 11.

The group also has a long list of members of trustees.

These includes Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Obafemi Hamzat, Adeniyi Adelaja, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Supo Sasore and Dr. Leke Pitan among others.
