Academica Coimbra of Portugal midfielder, John Ogu, has assured Nigerians that the Super Eagles will scale all hurdles on their way to qualifying for Brazil 2014 World Cup finals.
Ogu, who broke into the Super Eagles after the team won the African Cup of Nations in South Africa, opined that the Confederations Cup was a wonderful experience for the team, saying they are willing to return to Brazil for the global showpiece next year.
His words: “It was a wonderful experience for us playing against the best players at the Confederations Cup and I want to assure you that we would strive hard to qualify for the World Cup proper.
“There are longer minnows in football but I don’t think Malawi has what it takes to stop us from getting to the next round of the World Cup qualifier.
“We have talented and hungry players in this team, so I have no doubt in mind that we are going to shock the world if we eventually qualify for the World Cup.”
Ogu, who opened his national team goal account against Mexico in the United States of America, however. offered to play in any position on the pitch.
“I’m better suited in the central midfield and I have a powerful left foot but I can play in position the coach ask me to. So, I’m jack of all trades and master of all,” he boasted.
