The Ondo State Reconciliation Committee constituted by the South West chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday submitted divergent reports at the party’s South West office in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The reports of the committee, which was submitted in two different bound copies by its Chairman, Ambassador Toye Olofintuyi, was unlike those from other states in the zone.
Olofintuyi attributed the divergence in the reports to the appointment of Zonal Working Committee members into the reconciliation committee, saying this gave room for personal interest.
Chief Ishola Filani, the Caretaker Chairman of the PDP in the zone, however, said the divergent reports was a welcome development.
Filani said that the reports would give the party a clear insight into the crisis in the state.
The party, he added, would soon constitute a five-member committee to look into the various reports submitted.
He said: “We must make the party more cohesive and this will attract the majority into its fold.
“We must bring the PDP to every door step and homes.
“The forthcoming elections in Ekiti and Osun have made it imperative for our party to put its house in order so as to wrest power from the ACN or APC if it is registered.”
Filani urged party members to put strategies in place and ensure that candidates emerge in the next seven months in line with the regulations of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Filani described members, who had defected to other parties as “enemies”, while urging ministers from the zone to move closer to the party.
He also commended members of the party in the zone for their perseverance since the loss of the zone to the ACN.
