Sign-on fees: Rangers management pushes release of N30m approved by Government

Management of Rangers International FC of Enugu has commenced the process of securing the release of the N30 million approved by the Enugu State Government to boost the club’s financial obligations.
The government recently announced the approval of N30 million for settlement of the club’s registration and sign-on fees for players and officials.
The Media Manager of the club, Foster Chime, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Friday that the General Manager of the club, Paul Ozor and the accountant had commenced the process of the paper work for release of the money.
Chime said: “As I speak to you now, our General Manager, Paul Ozor, and the accountant have been busy following-up on necessary paper work and other needful signings before the release of the money.
“We want the money to be released in time to enable us to meet our financial obligations as well as motivate our players and officials to remain in their present high spirits in the league.”
On the upcoming Rangers versus Niger Tornadoes of Minna match at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday, Chime re-assured fans that the Flying Antelopes would rattle the visitors with many goals.
He said: “We are calling on our teeming fans to troop out en masse to cheer up the team.
“We are promising them better performance as well as victory to see the team secure the maximum six points with many goals this season.”
The money also covers arrears of sign-on fees of the players and officials from 2012 to 2015.
So far, Rangers had played two matches, one away and one home – Kano Pillars had defeated Rangers, 2-1 (away), while Rangers defeated Plateau United, 3-1 (home).
