Shoprite sealed over expired, adulterated products

The Lagos State Safety Commission has shut the Ikeja Shopping Mall branch of major shopping outlet, Shoprite.
The LSSC said the Ikeja branch of Shoprite was sealed for breaching safety law.
Officials of the commission enforced the sealing of the outlet on Friday afternoon.
They drove out all customers and then put a seal order at the entrance.
The seal order read: “Sealed. This premises had been sealed following the breach of safety law. This seal must not be broken. For further enquiries, contact the Commission.”
It was gathered that the sealing of the outlet had to do with the sale of expired and adulterated products.
It was learnt there had been complaints by members of the public about adulterated and expiry products being sold in the outlet.
Investigations by the LSSC also confirmed the allegation, a source in the Commission said on Friday.
