Four of those behind the shooting of an aide of former Governor Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State, Sina Kawonise, have been arrested by the police.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Police Command, Folashade Odoro, a combined police and military patrol team combed the bushes around the scene of the attack in Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State and arrested four of the hoodlums.
Kawonise, the Managing Director of Western Publishing Company Limited, publishers of the Nigerian Compass and Westerner, was returning to his base in Lagos State from Awka, Anambra State at about 8:30pm when he was attacked on Tuesday by the suspected armed robbers.
Kawonise was hit on the leg by bullets.
He was in a convoy of two vehicles when the attack took place, with his police orderlies responding to the attack.
One of his two police orderlies was also injured by bullets from the hoodlums.
Kawonise and the police orderly are said to be responding to treatment.
The area is a notorious spot as several road users have been attacked there.
